The control effects of direct torque control (DTC) and flux-oriented control (FOC) were compared.
The station consists of 12 flywheel energy storage arrays composed of 120 flywheel energy storage units, which will be connected to the Shanxi power grid. The project will receive dispatch instructions from the grid and perform high-frequency charge and discharge operations, providing power ancillary services such as grid active power balance.
At full speed, the flywheel has 5 kW h of kinetic energy, and it can provide 3 kW of three-phase 208v power to a power load. Small versions of this flywheel will be able to operate at very high speeds, and may require the inherent low losses in HTS bearings to achieve these speeds .
